If your organisation is deemed by the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) to be a large charity your financials must be audited annually.
If your organisation is deemed a medium charity you may choose to have your financials reviewed or audited unless other audit requirements exist including a notice from the ACNC requiring an audit.
Small charities may also choose to have their financials audited, simply as a prudent management decision.
The table below shows how the ACNC define the size of a charity:
|Small Charities||less than $250,000|
|Medium Charities||between $250,000 and less than $1million|
|Large Charities||$1million and above|
